I have a PSA AR10 and the Vortex 1x8 Strike Eagle optic with Vortex mount. What height riser would I need to clear the front sight?
Eric C on Feb 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: You don’t need a riser. When looking through the scope you’ll see past the front sight and it will essentially become invisible. The mount it comes with is the right height for most people to have a proper cheekweld. If you put an additional riser on it you won’t be able to have a good cheekweld any longer.
Will this scope stand up to a 458 socom use?
jtrrt17 on Feb 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I own this scope and it is currectly mounted on my 458 SOCOM AR-15. Originally I had it mounted on my AR-10 in .308, but wanted more magnification so I moved it to my 458 SOCOM. This scope has not had a single problem of any kind on either platform.

Will this scope perform well on an AR15 6.5 Grendel?
Emmett S on May 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: DDepending on how far you want to hit at, it should be great. If you move up 6.5 Creedmore I'd go with more power and use Vortex, Nightforce or other quality instruments.
Is there a throw lever for this scope that will fit the mag ring ??
Kpatton9211 on Oct 22, 2019
BEST ANSWER: MK Machining sells their 3D printed throw levers. They work very well and are reasonably priced. Make sure you follow the proper torque specs so you don't crush your scope (as with any throw lever).
Does this have lens covers? If so what type?
Dalton D on Sep 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Mine came with Vortex covers. Pretty basic and a bit loose so you'll likely put a wrap of electrical tape on the scope to have them fit tight. They're okay.
I’m thinking of purchasing for my 223 Wylde. Any thoughts or reasons why I shouldn’t?
Bryan L on Jul 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello,

The strike eagle would make a great addition to a 223 wylde build. The ability to go from 1x to 8x magnification makes it a great optic option especialy at this price with a cantilever mount that is designed for the AR platform.

Will this scope hold up on a 3030 lever action?
George c on Jun 18, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have a couple on my 308s. Both have a few thousand rounds through them. Holding zero perfect.
Is the forward mount enough to deploy BUIS without removing the scope?
Odinson742 on Nov 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: If you were able to have that much room on your upper prior to mounting on the rail, you likely won’t have the ability to fully utilize your irons through the scope. It’s not a true 1x power. Also you have an etched reticle which would busy up your sight picture. I would recommend an offset iron setup if you feel the need to run backups.
Does this come with scope caps?

Great Scope, great price
As with other Vortex products, this is a fine scope for a very reasonable price. I've been using it in competition and cannot fault it in any way. Most of my other optics are Trijicon, but their only comparable optic is a VCOG at about 10X the price. Palmetto's deal with the Vortex mount even beat the very reasonable retail price.

Even though a little bit pricey, it would be worth the price with the mount included to anyone looking for this type of scope
A very nice and solid scope.., clearest glass I have looked through in along time!! That includes several of the top name brands that are supposed to be in the same category... I could not believe the clarity of this scope as well as the sturdiness of the mount !!
Highly recommended

Strike Eagle & Mount
Mounted on a Sig 516, Balance is good, easy to keep both eyes open and acquire target. Good reticle. I did not like that it was made in China but, it appears to be of good construction.

Well worth the money!

Vortex Strike Eagle 1 x 8 with mount.
Overall optic clarity is great at any magnification. Mount is solid. Hope someday a company will develop a mount that doesn't need loctite, it's just a personal thing for me. Love having the vortex warranty behind it, even if I've never had to use it.

Great for the price
I paid $299 for the package. it is a really nice option for the price. The optic is shorter and lighter than the 1x6. The image is clear from 2x and up. On 1x the image is distorted around the edges. Almost seems like you're looking through a fish bowl. The eye box gets really narrow above 5x. At 8x you loose the image between shots. I am running it on a 6.5 Grendel build. Like I stated above really good for the price.

Great optic
I really like the illuminated reticle. It is like having the best of a red dot and a scope. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an optic for an AR or close range use.

Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8 Great Value for the price
Great Scope for the price.
The 1 magnification works great for close quarters work and the 8 magnification was great at 300 yards. Good Value and a great warranty.
